For my AS Media Studies coursework I had two options to choose from for my first task; these were, creating a music magazine or, develop a film trailer. I have chosen to create and develop a music magazine as I feel more suited to this type of media rather than film based development. I feel like creating graphics, front covers, etc is more my type of thing as I know I enjoy that aspect of media.
The basis/topic of my magazine will be pop/dance music; maybe developing into house music or similar categories at certain points, but specifically pop music. I have more knowledge of this type of music in comparison to other genres therefore, it makes sense to base the topic of my music magazine on the pop genre because I know I have a wide range of background knowledge concerning the topic.
I normally take more of a keen interest in fashion and celebrity magazines (e.g CLOSER, LOOK, and more!) and not actually, music magazines. Influence and inspiration from these magazines could still be highly beneficial though, in regards to layout, graphic design and overall appearance and applying similar styles to my own magazine.
In this blog I will include detail and research of potential text, images and designs and continue to track my progress on this project throughout.
